I just got the phone call. They wouldn't tell us who it was. But, I think I know.

This is so fobbed up.

Emily Grace Panicacci. She was a sophomore. She hanged herself.

She was also one of the sweetest girls I have ever met. She was so tortured. The world has really lost something special by losing her. Being at school today was the eeriest feeling..

I went through a really similar thing about 6 or 7 months ago. Darius, a guy i know from school killed himself, and it was so awful for everyone. I had only hung out with him a couple times because of mutual friends, but he was the most wonderful guy and it really took a lot of people by surprise. and the most frustrating thing was the lack of information they gave us about what happened. His parents are apparently really religious, and they kept it private, not even letting people go to his funeral or holding a memorial service. the closest thing we had was a bonfire some students organized, and i couldn't even go to that. but for some reason it brought our school, especially the drama department, since he was involved, a lot closer together. It's weird, the effect tragedy has on schools.

I am so sorry, raji. Don't be afraid to reach out to people, whether for yourself or to help other people. One of the best things that came out of it was that people who barely knew each other were comforting each other, regardless of how well they knew darius. so we're here for you if you need us, and if not, be the wonderful person you are and be there for other people. Things like this are hard, and you never truly get over it sometimes, but a little support can go a really long way.

Super enormous virtual hugs right here.

Ohmygosh Raji I am so sorry. People at my school joke about this all the time (unfortunately) but nobody's gone through and actually killed themselves in years. I can't imagine what you and your school are going through.

But we're here for you. /hug
